We acquired our first Golden Retriever in 1989 after owning and showing Alaskan Malamutes for many years. It was a great move for us as we love the dogs, they fit into our lifestyle and we have been extremely fortunate in our dogs and our mentors.

Since starting to show our dogs seriously in late 1990, we have personally, in conjunction with our handlers, finished conformation titles on six Goldens that we acquired from other breeders. We have produced 40 Champions at this point with at more fairly close to completing their titles. These conformation dogs have been Best in Show winners, Best in Sweeps and Best In Specialty Winners and their accomplishments have included obedience, hunting and agility titles including a High In Trial.

Seven of our dogs have gone on to enter the Show Dog Hall of Fame, a program of the Golden Retriever Club of America that honors dogs that are able to complete successfully at the Group level.

Sixteen of our dogs have been ranked in the Top Twenty Golden Retrievers in the United States with one being the Number One Male for two years. Many have qualified for the AKC/Eukanuba Classic. A number of other Sunbeam dogs which are not conformation champions have titles in obedience, agility and hunting.

In a breed as competitive as Golden Retrievers, we are extremely proud of having compiled this record in such a short time. We have achieved this because we were fortunate to acquire three wonderful bitches Ch. Golden Light Happy Camper OD, Ch. Keane’s Nutmeg Pippin OD and Ch. Laurell Sunbeam Pink Panther SDHF OD, all of whom have been outstanding producers.

We breed primarily Champion bitches and we have tried to breed them into lines that are filled with top producers and feel that is the reason we have been so successful. And of course the final ingredient is getting those dogs into wonderful homes where they can realize their potential - whether as a show dog, a performance dog or a great member of the family.
